INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS
Playing an orchestral instrument by themselves only gives music students a part of the joy that can be had from music - playing in an orchestra fills in the missing experience. The extra practice that is involved and the performances complement the individual teaching they receive in lessons with you, and they bring you real-world playing problems to work on as they try other music.
Entry to the Sinfonietta, our training orchestra for younger players, is relatively open with minimal requirements. This offers younger music students the chance to develop their talents quicker and have fun with other young musicians of similar standards. Teachers, if you would like to refer one of your students to audition for the AYS orchestra, please print out one of our Parent Information packs for them to take home. If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. |
