HAPPY NEW YEAR! Yes it is time to get the rust off the strings, polish up the brass, put some wind in the wood and stick it to the percussion. Let the music begin!!!

Rehearsals start

• January 26th at7pm for AYS 
• February 9th at4.30pm for Sinfonietta

Be there at least 15 minutes before so you are tuned, toned, rosined and seated by kick off time ready to play. Remember to use the back entrance to Selwyn Village at the end of Wainoni Avenue rather than the main entrance from Target Street.

Sinfonietta - A note for you

Hi Sinfonietta members my name is Bridgette Carmody and I will be taking over from Steven as your musical director. I am really excited about the upcoming season and the things that are to come.

Just in case you are feeling a bit rusty, here are some musical notes to put you back on track:

p (piano) - the neighbours have complained

f (forte) - the neighbours are out.

ff (fortissimo) - telling the neighbours they might like to leave

crescendo - testing the neighbours tolerance level

pp (pianissimo) - the neighbours are at the door

Dim - thick

Obbligato - being forced to practice

Rit (and/or) Rall - coming up to the bit you haven't practised

Con moto - I have a car

Metronome - person small enough to fit into a Mini car

Lento - the days leading up to Easto (with eggo and choco and things)

Pui Animato - if you don't clean that rabbit out it will have to go!
